Ships look less colorful and more 'sterile'. Same goes for the UI, it's a matter of personal preference of course but I for one don't like it.
Channel blink notifications are harder to see, station buttons are too small for my liking even when using the 'big' ones.
Visually, I think it's a step backwards, I'll prolly get used to the UI, but for now, can't say I like it. As far as I can remember this is pretty much the first time I do not like a visual 'upgrade'. |

The first thing I wanted to do when I started EVE was to mod the interface myself (except it's not possible). And even after a few years I still had trouble to read those old terrible images at a glance. I like my muddy colored mess . |

Not to mention that the Ishtar is a simply horrendous shade of vomit inducing green Same goes for the Helios, it reminds me of a horrible green X-mas ball I chose to put in the X-mas tree as a kid (back then I guess I liked horrible vomit inducing green) |

Anna Tomy wrote: People *always* prefer what they are used to. Even if it sucks. Yes, the "hologram" optics are a matter of taste. But the old icons... This is a NO GO, every aspiring designer learns in school in the first week. They looked not simply out-dated, they were just bad. Illegible, terrible for usability. Even if it hurts, it's the right thing to trash the old icons... No more confusion.
You see, this is the kind of arrogance that makes ppl hate designers/developers/engineers/whatever. "OMG, how can you not like *change/design/product*?!?! It's awesome becuz *technical reasons lay men don't care about when they are just voicing their opinion*, I learned that in school/at awesome company X/wherever they think it is a big deal. GAWD stop being stupid!".
I know ppl have a tendency to dislike change, but saying they ALWAYS prefer what they are used to is simply not true. The fact that there are ppl here saying they love the new UI alone proves that.
I simply think the UI looks dull and sterile (with the new lighting making a lot of ships look more sterile too). I like colorful and detailed buttons. That's just personal taste however. On a more technical note: in the neocom, you can't make out where one button ends and where the other starts very well. |

Personal opinion: I don't like how the ships look now. they look, insert role-play here, unrealistic.
They look brandnew, freshly painted plastic molded kits you can buy in a store and glue together. Pretty sure I ran over Scotty the docking manager a few times in the past, where are the stains his corps left behind on my hull?
Also metal looks, well not like metal. Way to wide opacity, me thinks.
Very well said, they have a 'toyish' look about them now, that was never the case back in the past. The new light rendering might be more realistic from a technical point of view, the end result looking at them is NOT. |

Please remove the gaining/losing focus on a window causing it to shift in colour, it is causing headaches and nausea on multiple players. Not mild, severe.
Just did my first small order update run and it sucks yeah. I doubt I'll be getting headaches and nausea from it but I REALLY dislike it and it will prolly be my biggest gripe with this update as I'll be confronted with it on a daily basis for extended periods of time.
